“Our facilities contractor was not performing to our satisfaction. Edvocate inspected our schools, reviewed our specifications and contract. Working with Edvocate then determined what the contractor needed to change in order to deliver the services to our satisfaction. They saved us money by renegotiating our contact with the facilities contractor to provide supplies in their pricing. We were so satisfied with their efforts we retained them for on-going contract monitoring.”
– Ms. Jann Cohen, Business Administrator
Client: | Ventnor School District, New Jersey |
Situation: | The contractor was not performing to the District’s satisfaction, principals were not pleased with the services, and the buildings were not clean. |
Edvocate: | Performed on- site inspection of the buildings to determine the level of service delivery by the contractor. Provided an on and off site audit that included reviewing, analyzing and making recommendations related to what the Districtís specifications, contract, and the facilities companyís proposal called for but was not being delivered. Toured and inspected each school to determine/measure actual service levels and satisfaction levels. We interviewed all user constituencies. Developed recommendations for the contractor to implement to improve current service levels. Renegotiated contract to resolve conflicts in language and specifications. Worked with the contractor to develop and implement a quantifiable and measurable action plan to correct the deficiencies. Developed a more efficient and cost-effective program. |
Result: | The District is working with Edvocate and the facilities contractor to implement the recommendations for the improvement plan. Deliveries of services are improving. The District has retained Edvocate to provide on-going contract monitoring services. |
Benefit: | During the audit process Edvocate discovered that the facilities contractor was to provide all snow removal, paper and plastic supplies but were not. This has saved the District a great amount of money. Edvocate, working as the District’s advocate with the facilities contractor, is ensuring the District is being provided with the services they are paying for. |
